CH 02 — The story
Songs fromthe south coast
Kai Rennie writes the kind of country songs that sound like a long drive home — dust on the dashboard, a guitar case in the back, the sun going down over the paddocks.

Raised on the NSW South Coast, Kai grew up between the surf and the scrub, learning to play in kitchens and on tailgates before he ever set foot on a stage. His songs carry that landscape in them — wide, warm and worn-in, somewhere between the raw honesty of Zach Bryan and the quiet ache of Sam Barber.
What started as bedroom recordings and open-mic nights has grown into packed rooms and sold-out local shows. There is no polish for polish's sake here — just a voice, a guitar, and stories about the people and places that made him.
He is writing his first record now, out here where the tar road turns to gravel.
